About Us
A DIFFERENT WAY OF LIVING.
AMOENUS was created from a simple idea: that a home should be more than a place to live.
It should respond to its surroundings, reflect the people who inhabit it and create a stronger connection between architecture, nature and everyday life.
Today, AMOENUS designs and builds distinctive eco-luxury homes in Portugal, combining contemporary architecture, natural materials, thoughtful construction and modern comfort.
About Us:
Founded by Harold de Vries, AMOENUS grew from a vision of creating meaningful, nature-connected places in Portugal.
After moving from the Netherlands to Central Portugal, Harold began developing ideas around sustainable and thoughtful ways of living.
What started as a more compact approach to nature-connected living gradually evolved into a broader vision creating larger, more refined homes where architecture, comfort and the surrounding landscape come together.
That evolution became AMOENUS.
Today, the focus is on creating distinctive eco-luxury homes designed for people who value space, nature, quality and a more considered way of living.
DESIGNED TO BELONG
We believe the best homes do not simply occupy a landscape they belong to it.
Every AMOENUS project is developed around its surroundings, taking into consideration the landscape, orientation, materials, natural light and the way the spaces will be experienced.
From the architectural concept to the smallest detail, we aim to create homes that feel naturally connected to their environment.
